I remember the day when I was first approached by the ladies to support the Journey of Hope. I was immediately struck by their passion and ability to inspire. The brand is focused on pharmacy, health and beauty so we seek the initiatives that helps promote and develops our message. Not only must it resonate with who we are, but importantly connect to our most important audience- our customers. These ladies had it all and we at are delighted to be associated with the Journey of Hope.
In line with our strategic objective of supporting cancer awareness ,we are concerned with substantially reducing the impact of cancer by promoting health in all communities within South Africa.
Statistics show that one in four South Africans is diagnosed with cancer in his or her lifetime with over 80 000 South Africans losing the battle against the disease each year.
I can think of no greater message of hope that the amazing ladies who participate on the Journey of Hope and spread their message to those thousands of women who are struck down by breast cancer every year. Presenting themselves as proof that early detection makes all the difference to winning the battle. Visiting towns throughout South Africa on Harley Davidson’s spreading the word that cancer does not discriminate. All the precious women of South Africa need to be educated on prevention, early detection methods and where to find support groups.
