CANSA George had their annual Relay for Life on Saturday 14 March 2009. Around 2000 warmhearted people forfeited a night’s sleep to take part in this night-long relay to raise money for CANSA.

What a fun event, the George community really showed their enthusiasm right through the night through participating in the relay, supporting the stalls and cheering for the dedicated walkers! Journey of Hope participated by entering a team and a stall at the relay. All the stalls at the Relay donated their profits to CANSA Relay for Life. Journey of Hope sold promotions goodies and managed to raise just over R700. JoH's contibution was half the money raised. Journey of Hope handed FREE PINK BANDANAS out to all the breast cancer survivors. The event was hugely successful and raised R176 000.
