“The friends of Journey of Hope” as we call ourselves, are 5 cancer free ladies. There are some of us who’s moms, sisters and friends that did have to walk the road of cancer. Out of gratitude (for our health) and sympathy to others we are organizing these fundraising projects to help others. We met the incredible ladies of Journey of Hope at the Seal Breeze wine stomping weekend. Their positive attitude is our motivation to deliver our contribution.

The Journey of Hope breast cancer ride will be escorting the PinkDrive mobile unit trucks on an exciting roadshow to the 85th Comrades from Gauteng to KZN between 19 May – 3 June. On being invited to join the upbeat and interactive PinkDrive roadshow to Comrades, the Journey of Hope breast cancer survivors didn’t hesitate for a moment. “We knew we had to participate in this great initiative to raise awareness around breast cancer and to encourage women from all walks of life to have mammograms”, says Annelie Saker, one of the Journey of Hope riders and breast cancer survivors.

Africa Bike Week™ is set to take place  in Margate, South Africa from 24th – 27th April 2010 and is not to be missed. The event is set to attract more than 5 000 Harley-Davidson® motorcycle riders and 40 000 visitors from all over the world. Entry to this event is free and no bookings are required.

The event is open to all bikers in search of a South African adventure. The fun is not limited to Harley-Davidson® riders. Participants arriving in Margate can look forward to a jam-packed line-up of happenings including traders markets and live entertainment for the whole family.

What a delightful moment - I had a life changing experience when Des 36, (Oudtshoorn) asked me if she could join me on my Harley Davidson during the Mass ride.

Des is still undergoing chemo after abilateral mastectomy. Though it was such a short ride the overwhelming feeling of standing together as women we can achieve so much more!!
